PsychoPimpKiller
I was looking on ebay and found one of these above mentioned unit's for sale. I bought it because it was only $50. Does anybody know anything about this unit? I've already looked at the minidisc equipment browser and it didn't say too much about it. I know that I need to hook it up to another Kenwood radio with CD changer or bus controls. Does anybody have any suggestions for the main unit radio? I was looking at a Kenwood KDC MP342U because it has the bus controls and it plays mp3 CD's as well as having a front aux input. Plus it won't break my bank account. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
PsychoPimpKiller
So, I finally got around to installing these 2 units and neither one of them works the way that they should. The CD player (KDC-MP342U) thinks that there is a CD in there and it goes through the eject sequence and nothing comes out and it still says that there is one in there. Other than that the unit works fine but I can't have a radio in my car that the CD player doesn't work, I just can't. The KMD-D401 will load an MD but there is nothing lit up on the display and the radio says that nothing is connected. Now I know why I don't buy Kenwood car radios. The few that I have had have given me problems and my brother had a few and they have given him a bunch of problems. I've had a Kenwood home stereo since 1997 and it works just fine. Kenwood car stereos are junk. At least anytime I've dealt with them they have been. I knew I shoud have stuck with Sony. I've had many of them and only after many years do they end up not working properly, normal wear and tear issues. Not right away. And since I bought these a while ago, I cannot return either of them. Oh well, it's only money.
