zahne
I know this has been brought up before but is there any interest in updating the Minidisc.org site? I realize there is a lot of content on there but it might be worth archiving some older articles that date back to a decade or more ago. In favor of really useful things like a news section and the equipment browser. As well as tutorials etc. It might not get more people to get into Minidisc but it will let surfers that stumble upon the site that there is a current following here. It might be a way to increase the size of the community. Thoughts on this?
PhilippeC
minidisc.org is Christopher's site if I am not wrong. What you propose could be a huge work.
mystix
from a recent email about a month ago.. he has said hes working on an update. given the immense amount of material I can understand it taking a while. Myself I dont think archiving the decade old stuff would be beneficial at all. That is after all the hayday of minidisc. The relevance in those articles is as good as it gets. In many cases its the only place to look up documentation on certain models of gadget. .. sometimes its nice to get a name of an old seller of equipment, even if the website isnt there anymore, which is by far the majority now. I have suggested adding a kind of wiki thing to it so info can be added without having to bother him for every piece. (Although hes always been incredibly fast about getting stuff up whenever I emailed the site.)
