Cannot transfer from minidisc using SonicStage 4.3

Hello,

I have a Sony MD Walkman MZ-NH900 Hi-MD minidisc recorder. I have a 1GB Hi-MD minidisc with music I would like to transfer but have a problem.

I have music I recorded through a microphone that I would like to transfer to my PC.

The music plays fine when I play through the recorder in SonicStage 4.3.

I tried to transfer everything about a week ago and only one folder transfered.

When I attempt to transfer, the status bar says "Loading . . . " races to 100% and nothing happens.

My walkman is rather beat up and old, hence it could be the walkman. Sometimes I get an error that says the disc is write protected when I try to transfer. Other times it just errors as mentioned above.

Do these symptoms sound familiar?

Does anyone know where I could get my unit fixed?

Also, is there a cheap replacement/means to transfer my music?

Have you tried qhimdtransfer? It uploads tracks fine for me from my RH910 and RH1, and it's a lot faster than SonicStage.

For some reason, SonicStage refuses to recognize the 910, but qhimdtransfer works fine. I use in in Linux, but there's a Windows version.
