I just got my Nw-Hd5 on wednesday. i knew sonic stage was pretty gay, and... yeh...it is. it takes ages for file transfer. but i can wait.

yesterday i set it to copy all my music(27gig) to player, and make em 64kb/s atrac files. i stopped it half-way, to check out how it sounds... it sounded sh*te. so i initialised player hdd and connected it again, to set it on 128 kb/sec atrac. and then i realised that i got 3 gb of free disk space on my PC! i swear god, this morning i had 6! i unistalled sonic stage, but my space is still gone... where does sonicstage keep its files, so i can delete em and start all over?

i use sonicstage4

Because you didn't specify the specs of your comp, I shall assume WINXP.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\SonicStage\Packages\Optimized Files

PS - Be careful uploading large amounts of files. I heard freeze problems a lot. Your guess is as good as mine as to the specific reason why (SS sucks?...HAHA). Upload 5 GB at a time just to play it safe.

Good Luck

Under Options you can find Advanced Settings. Here you can delete temporary files, if I'm correct this also deletes Attrac files that were created solely for transfering tracks to a device

Yep, you are correct The R-W!N8r.

It'll delete all OMA files that were made in the process of transcoding and transfering to the player. If you ripped CDs in ATRAC or purchased music from Connect music store, it will not touch those OMA files, as it won't touch any of your wma/aac/etc..

only OMAs created during conversion & transfering to your walkman
