Recently I have bought a sony NW-E407, but I am not been able to use it yet, because I have never encountered a such a problematic software like sonicstage.

I have installed it and then I try to open the program nad the cute little message 'omgjbo.exe. has encountered a problem...' appears. Its such a hassle you buy a product and then such a dissapointment that you can't use it. I hope that someone will help me because I tried a few thinks even calling sony and no luck. :sad: I have a windows xp/ sp2 computer and I tried the following

1. 'Turn on DEP for all programs and services exept those that I select', double clicked explorer etc.. (sony's site avice)

2. Under selective start up uncheck all except 'load system services and use original BOOT.IN'. Restart the computer etc..

3. Install and uninstall a many times all versions of sonic stage

And at this stage dont know what to do. Sony is not much helpfull to say the least

thanks a million anyway :sad::sad::sad:

Welcome to AtracLife !

★ "Omgjbox.exe has caused an error and must be closed by windows"

Because SonicStage's error messages are generally not very informative, we suggest that one attempt to run a registry integrity scan with a registry cleaner such as CCleaner. This method is especially appropriate for the aforementioned Omgjbox.exe error message. In addition, please review the following steps:

1. Make sure that you are using a computer with an account that has the administrator rights.

2. Make sure that you have downloaded the latest SonicStage version available from the download section of our website.

3. Make sure that you have updated your computer and your operating system with the latest updates. Pleasehttp://www.atraclife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6 contact the manufacturer of your computer / operating system.

4. Make sure that your computer is free from spyware: for more information, please visit the Microsoft security website.

It may also be helpful to Disable the DEP (Data Execution Prevention) settings. Proceed accordingly as outlined below:

1. Click Start, right click My Computer, and then click Properties.

2. On the Advanced tab, click Settings under Performance.

3. On the Data Execution Prevention tab, select Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select, and click Add.

4. In the Open box, browse to the C:\Windows folder, double click Explorer, click OK, and then click OK.

Some desktop customizing utilities (such as WindowBlinds) are known to be in conflict with SonicStage (i.e. error message: "Omgjbox.exe has caused an error and must be closed by windows"). Disable the utilities in question or install those that are not in conflict (e.g. StyleXP) with SonicStage accordingly.

right like i know what you were talking about mr ishiyoshi

windowblinds?? I am just a intermidiate computer user not an expert

But thanks anyway

:sad::sad:

Sorry about that. Regarding WindowsBlinds: "a program that enables Windows users to completely change the look and feel of the Windows user interface. Users customize Windows by using visual styles (skins) created for WindowBlinds. With these skins, WindowBlinds can change the look of Title bars, borders, Task bar, Start button, Start menu, Progress animations, Toolbar icons, Explorer Views, and virtually every other part of Windows." If you have installed a desktop customizing program, it would be wise to disable the utility in question.

Well, let's start afresh. I know you have reinstalled the software, but please attempt a clean reinstallation (using our SonicStage Software FAQ as a guide) of the newest version of SonicStage CP 4.2. Upon uninstallation of your current version of SonicStage, please utilize a registry cleaner such as CCleaner to clean up any remnants of SonicStage before proceeding with reinstallation of the software. When you have completed the process, run SonicStage. If the problem still persists, please report back with your system specifications.
