Hi. I'm having trouble importing any music files. Once attempted, it freezes and I have to close using taskmanager. I dont get the omgjbox message. Just a freeze.

I had sonicstage 4.0. I uninstalled and installed 4.2 and same thing happened. Tried in safe mode. same thing.

Pentium 4 (2.6ghz) 512mb memory,

XP sp1

thanks.

1. Install Service pack 2 (SP2) for winXP for security sake.

2. What kind of music you're importing? SS can be finicky on certain types of badly encoded MP3s. 1 thing you can try is to decode the problematic file to WAV, and import the WAV file to SS.

Do you have a large music library?

I'm having the same problem and I suspect it's from having a very large music library. To get around the problem I have to transfer only one album at a time. SonicStage shows as Not Responding in the task manager for up to 10 minutes before it resumes and the transfer begins.

An iPod using friend was visiting recently and observing the problem, and mocking me for staying with it lol.

SonicStage 4.2 (Canadian)

VAIO RB53

Win XP Home SP2

Pentium 4 CPU 3.0 GHz

1.50GB RAM

CA Antivirus

ATI video card app

Windows firewall

Your describing the problem pretty exactly. How big is a large music library?
