Question

I just recently got a S706f which plays AAL files. My question is, is there any difference between a 256k AAL file and a 352k AAL one? I know I probably wouldn't be able to hear any difference but is there any, technically? (like less information, smaller size, worse quality etc...)

thanks in advance

The 256 or 352 option refers to accompanying lossy file - when you rip in AAL, Sonicstage produces both a lossless and a lossy file. This was largely done to make transfer easy and fast on devices that didn't support AAL. However, since the s706 would play the AAL file natively, I don't know if there's a way for you to transfer the lossy file rather than the lossless one.

So, if you're listening to the lossless file, there will be no difference in sound, but there will be a minute difference in size.
