fender
I just bought a Sony NW-S203F Walkman today (1gb) for $199.00 AUD. I installed the SonicStage CD that came with it (it's 2006 one). I tried importing my music files (all mp3s) into the library, but it seems that only the mp3s that are by "proper" bands work. So like for example, some of the files are downloaded from MySpace Band pages, some are from CDs, some were given to me on burnt CDs, and some are from YouTube (converted to mp3). I noticed that the ones from YouTube and MySpace (mp3s) don't work, a message popups saying:"Cannot find music files that are not registered to SonicStage. (Error Code : 00007180)"All the files are in one folder I created specifically for this. I then tried using a program called "Mp3 File Manager", I put all my mp3s in (some didn't "make it") and when I tried to play them on the player, it didn't work. The SonicStage really annoys me...I downloaded the latest version but have not started installing (I doubt it'd help). What should I do, I don't want to return it, it's awesome. Is there an alternative way to do import music or something? Thanks
fender
Some of the MySpace songs work when I import, but they don't appear in the library.
Ishiyoshi
Welcome to ATRACLife! Regarding "Error Code: 00007180," please review our "SonicStage Software FAQ."*thread moved to Software Discussion
fender
Thanks, but I didn't quite understand it.."Where are those music files located? Is it within the default folder of SonicStage “My Library” or elsewhere? If it’s the former, you may want to consider importing “new” music (e.g. wav or Mp3) into SonicStage from another folder. If you just attempt to drop those new music into the default folder and attempt to import, that error message: “Cannot find files that are not registered to Sonic Stage. Error code 00007180″ will appear.Does that mean putting the file in a different folder and then importing? Because if it is, I've tried it, it works but it doesn't appear in the library. thanks
atown8605
I have experienced what you are describing. My solution was to delete entire library but NOT from the computer. Then move folder to another harddrive. So now the ss library is clean and folder is on new harddrive. Now do not import as a folder. Import the FILES under the folder you want. The songs should show up in SS.
juli_
I know this sounds silly, but I kept getting those messages relating to 'can't import tracks which are not registered to sonicstage' as well. But it just turned out that I'd imported them twice by accident. First I'd dragged them over and because I didn't see them appear in the library - I dragged them over again - which is when the message popped up.When I looked in the library again, I found they were already there from the first 'drag' but had a slight delay in appearing. So when I dragged them the second time - it couldn't import them because they were already imported. As I said, it sound silly and that may not be the reason you're having that problem - but I only get those error messages when I've impatiently dragged songs over twice without waiting for them to appear in the library! atown8605
I think it will work with one drive. The main thing is to clear out SS.
