ashpick
When powered up, the display just shows a set of circling dots - there are whirring noises from the disk, but the player does not get any further. Is the hard disk corrupted somehow? Are there any fixes, or will it have to go back to Sony for repair?Regards,Ashley
0 lyris
Yes, that's a hard disk problem. I'm not sure if the disk can be repaired. However, I think I may be able to find you a perfectly good 20gb drive that came out of an HD5 that had a broken headphone output if you're interested in spare parts... I let it sit over night to wear down the battery. Then I charged it all day. I got home from work and it was as good as new.
