Question

I have a sony HD5 and i had to format my computer, when i re-installed everything including SS it said iahd to initialise it again, so that means i can't transfer anything onto my HD5 or get anything off without formatting the HDD on my HD% and i have like 20 gigs of songs which i did not backup because they are my albums so what can i do without getting rid of everything and uploading my albums again ?

PLEASE HELP

Shane

Umm... possibly? I think the only solution I've heard of is to find the song files (they'll all be in numbered directories with an .oma extension, regardless of format) and then copy them to a folder on your hard drive and the import that folder into Sonicstage. Hopefully, someone with some direct experience can help you with this though.

P.S. Search around the forum for more problems like this one.

Well, welcome to the world of Sony. Yup, another same question again and again. In short, you probably have to bite the bullet, re-initialize your player and re-rip your songs. Next time, use Asia Pacific versoin of Sonicstage instead.

It's funny how many people are having the same question in the past couple of months, yet I don't see many people helping/explaining things.

hmm i had a similar problem...i upgraded from sonicstage 3.4 to 4.3...trouble is i didn't know that if i installed a us version it's not compatible with my mp3...so it asked me to reformat my mp3...if you want to import your mp3s off your player onto your computer you could try this:

http://clientes.netvisao.pt/~sonygym/index.htm

but i didn't work for me ( i think because it was connect sonicstage or something?)...you should try it...
