yakkosmurf
I have a lot of music ripped to my hard drive in SS. I've used to the ATRAC3plus encoding, and they are saved as .oma filles. The PS3 supports ATRAC, as I've ripped a few CDs to it's hard drive using the PS3 BD ROM drive. When I rip music on the PS3, then transfer it to my PC, SS recognizes the file, which has a file extention of .aa3. I would like to be able to transfer the files on my hard drive to the PS3, but it doesn't recognize the .oma files. I realize I could re-rip everything but that would obviously take a lot of time, and I'd rather not go that route. I could also convert the files to MP3, but I'd rather keep them in ATRAC format.Any thoughts would be appreciated. I posted this on a MD forum, and someone suggested trying here. navsimpson
My guess would be that you should just rename the .aa3 files to .omg or .oma files (try both and see which works). I'm pretty sure that should work, as it works the other way round for the ATRAC plug-in for Sony software. Let us know what you find out.-Nav
navsimpson
Sorry, that should have been the other way round - rename the .oma files to .aa3 and then copy to the PS3. As long as they aren't copy protected, I can't imagine why the PS3 wouldn't recognise them. -Nav
yakkosmurf
Thanks for the tip. I wasn't sure if they were the same or not. I'll give that a try and let you know what happens.
