Buying a VW Golf which has an IPOd connection which controls it as well as playing.

Does anyone know if a connection can be made so that a car radio can control and play NW-608 through its USB port?

Thanks Michael

Hi and welcome to ATRACLIFE.

There is a company called Connects2 that does a piece of kit to connect the HD series and the A3000/A1000 to existing car stereos. However, I don't think they support the A608? There are a couple of reviews and posts on this forum for there equipment and they also have there own website. If there is a connection for an ipod you may be able to find a lead that fits the usb socket on your A608 and fits the car stereo Aux input also. However you would have to control the A608 on it's own while controlling only the volume on the head unit. :)

The A608 is UMS compliant, so if the audio system in the car support playing MP3s from UMS devices, you can just drag-n-drop MP3s to the A608 via explorer. Downside is of course, those MP3s won't be recognized by the A608 itself.

Controlling the unit directly is dangerous in driving situation. Please avoid this option for safety sake.

Unless you are happy enough just to leave it in shuffle mode and only controll the volume via the head unit. But as pata2001 has said DO NOT control the A608 while driving.

Thanks for the replies and I agree you don't want to be changing options while driving!

However are you saying that whilst the nw-608 is playing there is an audio out via the usb connector?

If so can you tell me which pin outs are what so I could connect in into the ipod connection in the arm rest.

Thanks in anticipation Michael
