Hi everyone,

I've just bought a A806 today from Sony Canada. I have songs that are titled in chinese, and I want to transfer them to the player. I installed SonicStage 4.3, and imported the mp3 into Sonicstage library just fine. However, when I wanted to transfer the songs to the player, Sonicstage showed

"Cannot load the rights information for the selected tracks.

The file format may not be supported by SonicStage."

I've modified the registry as shown in the sticky to "800000", and my windows language pack is already set to Chinese (Hong Kong SAR) so AppLocale says I didn't need to use AppLocale to run Sonicstage in traditional chinese.

If I changed the file name to english, then I can transfer the songs over. However, ALL my mp3 file names are chinese, and it's really not easy to rename 500+ songs to english, as I don't even know what the english name for the song would be! Could anyone please help me? I REALLY love this player and I don't want to refund it. Thanks!

Originally, I had only set the "Language for non-Unicode" to Hong Kong SAR and it didn't work. I'm in Canada, so I had set the Regional Options for Standards and formats & Location to Canada. I changed both of them to Hong Kong, and then it worked. So all 3 (or maybe not the standard and formats) have to be set to Hong Kong SAR (for traditional) or China PRC (for simplifed). Hope it helps! :)

Oh, I forget, after I changed all 3, even the tags didn't need to change to Unicode anymore. Just the regular BIG5 ID3 tag could also be displayed on SonicStage AND the player.
