Question

humm i just went to sonystyle.com and a few other retailer sites ... why is it that I can get either a 1) pink nwa1200 or 2) a 2gb flash player .. and that's it? nothing else? what happened? is sony leaving the DAP market? man, i'm gonna be upset if that's so, and hurry-hurry-hurry burn all my sony-connect tunes to Standard CD so I can rerip them if they are abandoning digital audio players ...

They're £149 now on play.com, and Amazon.co.uk was selling them for £139.00. Both retailers were selling at the full price of £199 just a few weeks ago so the price is coming down nicely

Prices also dropped sharply here in Germany. 279 > 222 Euros. That is very competitive.

Is Sony leaving the DAP market? No. Sony continues to release new DAP, and even some interesting models exclusively for the Chinese market.

It seems as though Sony will sell only a limited number of their DAP to the American Market. Sony has not release an updated version of their HD-DAP in any market.

It is possible to get one of Sony's newer players from Canada or off eBay, however Sony America will not provide any support.

Hmm, I thought there were fewer players available (in the US) than in the past. I've got an older HDD player (NW-HD5? an LCD one, not the newer OEL one), and one of the 2GB USB players. The older one is kinda clunky, the newer one is GREAT but am getting tired of picking what music to carry. :)

Thanks for the replies!
