metal
Could owners of E01x series and A80x series please advise the playback behavior. If I select playback by album (non-repeat), and when I start play song no 4 (for instance),(i) will it stop at the end of the album; or (ii) will it go back song to no 1 and stop after playing song no 3?The reason I ask is because Sony seems to be rather inconsistent with this. For example, HD3 and A1000 will behave as (ii) whereas E005 behave as (i).I prefer (i) as I normally listen songs by albums.
0 Shinji Ikeda
On the NW-A800 series on standard group play back, when playing an album starting at track 3 play back will stop after the last track has finished. In shuffle mode the all tracks will be played back. However, if play is stopped, all tracks will be played back starting with the current track. In other words: the NW-A800 series will play back all tracks in random mode with the current track being tagged as the first track. The NW-A800 works as (i). 0 Shinji Ikeda
Cool Rock, I might be wrong, but Metal is talking about a different feature. An album of 14 tracks have been loaded onto the NW-E010 or NW-A800 series Network Walkmans. Play back is started at track 3. Then track 4 and the other tracks in sequential order. Once track 14 is finished playing, track 1 is played. Finally, playback stops at track 2. That is (ii) that Metal is trying to describe. The playback mode that I described for the NW-A800 series, in shuffle mode works kind of like (ii) when placed in group mode. If 14 tracks exist in a group, then all 14 tracks are played once (if repeat has not been set). I have not tested this on my NW-S706, but suspect that playback shuffle playback works the same. Also, for the NW-E000 series and NW-E010 series. But again, I might be wrong.
0 metal
Yes, Shinji Ikeda is correct. In fact I was trying to see if playback behavior (ii) as described in my first post can be set in E005 (or A80x, E01x series) and it looks it cannot be done. I'm aware of how to set shuffle play mode. Anyway, I'm really not interested in (ii) but rather I just like to know if there are ways to change my HD3 and A1000 to behave like (i). It occurs to me that Sony is rather strange in implementing different playback behavior in different types of players (ie, HDD & flash players).Hopefully, E01x series would work like (i) as well as I'm considering getting one of these. 0 cool_rock
well the shuffle picks up songs randomly and picks them on most listned songs first i mean by ratting. so i guess the mode 2 cant be done it can be done only if u prefer to select by ur self and shuffle is some thing else .well nwe01x series have mny intellegent shuffle features u can chekt the manualgo for it
Question
metal
Could owners of E01x series and A80x series please advise the playback behavior.
If I select playback by album (non-repeat), and when I start play song no 4 (for instance),
(i) will it stop at the end of the album; or
(ii) will it go back song to no 1 and stop after playing song no 3?
The reason I ask is because Sony seems to be rather inconsistent with this. For example, HD3 and A1000 will behave as (ii) whereas E005 behave as (i).
I prefer (i) as I normally listen songs by albums.
