Question

Hello

I bought a new CD player for my car and Im trying to hook up my NW-A1200 to the back of the CD player so I can control the walkman from the Cd player buttons. I was looking for a kit or adapter that enables ID tag to be displayed on the CD player screen such as name of the songs etc. Is there any good product that I can buy that is compatible with NW-A1200?

Thanks

Not sure whether there is such a product for the Walkman (I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong!), but there is a range of Sony head units specifically designed for the Walkman with a USB input on the front that allows you to control the Walkman using the car stereo and has ID tags as well.

Hopefully this link will work - Sony Walkman Car Stereos, I think it's the CDX-GT414 and 610 - you might have been better buying one of them! :)

I just bought an fm transmitter from ebay for next to nothing, plug it into the headphone socket and it transmits the signal on an fm frequency of your choice - tune the car stereo to same frequency and there you go - amazing invention!

...that has been around since the days of PCDPs, and worst sound quality to boot. Best bet is to get a car deck with AUX line-in. Unfortunately Sony doesn't really care in integrating their Network Walkmen products with their car decks, but they do have iPod integration. :)

Dudes, I guess you forgot about the UK-made Connects2 ASONWHD001 Sony Walkman to Sony HU adapter that is readily available all over Europe.

You can probably get one though fellow ALC user SteeleUK (who hails from the UK). Ask him about acquiring one for you, hey, he even takes PayPal, and from previous experience I can tell you that the Connects2 adapter is a godsend and an abgsolute must for all of us or any other Sony HDD/Hi-MD/MD Walkman owners.

Thanks,

Ray Jackson

Hi, I have a CDX-GT414 car stereo, and I can connect my nw a1200 to if via the front mounted USB socket using the std USB lead supplied with the walkman. This allows me to access the walkman via the controls on the car stereo. It also displays the track info, and charges the walkman at the same time!! I can also burn atrac (or MP3 WMA etc) cd's and play them via the cd slot. Another option is to connect via the 3.5mm phono jack, but this obviously limits the remote control function. The stereo sounds great and in plenty loud enough (4x50w). It cost me £75 brand new form a well known internet auction site. The only thingt missing is the abiity to connect it to the steering wheel controls.
