i plugged in my s706f to charge it....and WMP recognized it..."Walkman"...recognized the amount of memory left...so i tried sending a song....it said it did, but i couldnt find it on the player...any other instances of this? any way to make it work for real?

Mine shows up as a Walkman too, and I can also send songs to it via WMP, but they don't show up! WMP might recognise it as a Walkman, but the 706 isn't compatible with WMP

Yes it is possible to use the NW-S706F as an external storage, but only the NWZ-S710 series work with Windows Media Player. Actually, only the NWZ Network Walkman series work with drag-and-drop. The NW Network Walkman series require SonicStage to transfer audio tracks to the player.

The NW-S706F does not sync with WMP.
