godsmack
I'm having Win XP SP2 and kaspersky internet security(7.0)I'm running Sonicstage 4.3(the latest) and own a NW-E015f.Every time i transfer songs to the device, I either get a blue screen during the transfer or after it. So i can hardly transfer any songs to my player. It's really frustrating. There is no driver mentioned on the screen, just an error code and it's different every time.I'm able to transfer with ML_Sony using winamp but i want to use sonicstage.Any suggestions? Avrin
This is normal with SS43. I also had some blue screens on my Windows 2000 system after installing SS43. Moved back to SS42. No more blue screens.
godsmack
Ok but isn't there any other solution? What drivers does SS use? Maybe i can run driververifier and see if that's the problem
Avrin
SS43 uses some some updated drivers, but these were produced for a single reason - to make it possible to install them under Vista. You have XP, so there is no reason to install SS43. SS42 is currently the best and the most stable version for pre-Vista operating systems. The real cause of your blue screens is not in the drivers, but in the bugs of SS43. aob9
Download registry mechanic http://www.pctools.com/registry-mechanic/ It's free to try and has solved all sorts of problems ( some serious) for me. There is a free trial version. Check out what it comes up with after a system scan, if you find references to SonicStage you may a registry problem. The trial will fix 10 errors at a time. Avrin
Did you remove the OpenMG Limited Patch? And did you remove the drivers? This thread http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=8071 contains a description of the driver removal procedure (just search for "Disconnect any ATRAC devices from your PC and close SonicStage").As for cleaning the registry, I would recommend TuneUp utilities. You may download them from http://www.tune-up.com . They are somewhat more comprehensive than Registry Mechanic (although I am using both of them in tandem), and their trial version is fully functional for 30 days.
