Question

It's jus 2 months from using my brand new Sony NW-S706FV Walkman, I realize that the NC feature "doesn't work" anymore. That is the blue coloured indicator comes on but i dont hear or feel the effect of the NC as I did previously. I also noticed that the volume has also come down in my earphones. I have tried other casual earphones and in them the volume is quite high.

Is this a usual problem with regard to the MDR-NC022 earphones ? Are they of such lo-quality ? All I remember doing was cleaning the ear buds with a cotton bud. All of this happened within a day or two, rather than gradually.

How could I buy a new set of earphones with the NC ?

Im relly in need of help as I used to love this player more than my life.

thanx in advance.

the audiophile.

check the noise cancel level in settings. keep it at max.

I am using it for almost an year, no problems for me.

I've tries changing the NC Mic level from mid to high and high to low, but there's absolutely no effect. It's like the whole NC functionality is gone. If only I had another pair of MDR-NC 022's to check if its a problem with the player or the phones.

Anyways, guys let me know a place where I can buy a pair of MDR-NC022, probably brand new.

Had this problem too..

at least twice ;)

It starts with a lack of volume and a noticable downgrade of NC and endet with the fact that NC faild to work and the left and the second thime the right headphone channel didn't work anymore (at least there was still some sound but it was so silent ..).

I returned the Headphones only, kept the player ('ve used it with some cheaper SONY in-ears..think the Sony MDR-EX 71. Of course it's not, for years, as good as the NC Earphones.. but hey..ull survive it for some weeks), and get some new NC's for 2 times :). I think SONY 've needed 3 or 4 weeks.

Send the player to sony for a 3rd time, because the original prtection skin was not okay and there was some sand between the skin and the player (nasty scratches). get new headphone for a thrid time and they even removed the scratches and renewd the Walkman AND SONY logo as well as the 3 way button. :)

Really great job by sony ;)

You shuld try that too

Thats exactly what happened to my earphones. It gradually died down on me.

But unlike u, I cannot return the player to Sony, as I bought it from an online retailer called TribalUK when I was in England. I dont think Sony would accept my earphones. :(

I'd like to know how I might be able to get a pair of new MDR-NC022's.

I think you have to contact SONY anyway ..

the MDR-NC022 are not available for sale .. so you have to ask them to send you some or send the MP3 player to SONY UK ..

do you live in europe? so it shoud not be too expensive.

I dont live in the UK. I live in Sri Lanka. My sis bought me this when she was in the UK.

Do u think Sony would accept since I dint buy from them directly ?

I have means of sending the player back to UK and get it attended to but i doubt they'd accept it back.

thanx a lot for the help anyways.
