Zizone_
It seems like Sony USA continues to make mistakes on their product's feature and NAME...If you visit sony.com/ces under music menu, one can conveniently find Walkman, which is named as "NWZ-S818." (should it not be NWZ-A818??? or is this really a new product that I am not aware of...). If this is a mistake, there is yet another mistake under its specification on the same page. If you scroll down, it says that the player can playback video for 30 hours...So, either "NWZ-S818" has REALLY NICE battery with 30 hours of video playback, or they simply made mistake on name and confused with 33 hours of music playback with the video...If this is a mistake, when will Sony USA stop making so many mistakes on THEIR products??? If this is NOT a mistake, which I highly doubt, this thing has one nice battery.edit:it seems like I have misread the video part. What they meant was the length of video. For this, I am really sorry. But, the fact that they have wrong name still stands.Edit: Wrong name on the site is now correct. Edited January 5, 2008 by Zizone
ceres
It´s probably a sign for the things to come at CES. Sony is unlikely to show up with empty hands.Cramming Japanese S7 series into the more attractive NWZ A shell is a likely stop-gap measure until new designs crop up in march/april at the IFA 2008 trade fair that is usually the venue of choice for Sony to show off new consumer products. Zizone_
You may be right. I hope that Sony is not going to receive criticism for high price due to built-in NoiseCanceller then, since regular consumers seemed to not to care or had no knowledge why the price for when NW-S700 with NC was released last year.I was suspecting Sony would hold their possible new line up until Spring as you mentioned. juli_
I was suspecting Sony would hold their possible new line up until Spring as you mentioned. If they come out with a 16GB player with gapless support, I will be first in the queue! I know there's a 16GB Japan-only release but I'm referring to units sold outside Japan. The only thing that concerns me is the majority of people don't care about gapless (look how many people rushed to buy the A81x as soon as SS was dropped) and I wonder if Sony won't bother with gapless since it doesn't seem to have affected sales (or user opinions) of the A81x

I would prefer if they could release some good dedicated software for Walkman (something completely opposite from the Media Manager for Walkman) or at least release some kind of add-on on WMP11 for Walkman, if possible.
