Question

Hi all

Sorry, this might be a newbie question but I just got the above player and it does something which I'm not sure is normal for it to do.

When I connect it to a PC, the PC finds it as a USB device but on the player screen, it just says "Connecting USB (MTP)". I can't get any of the buttons etc to work unless I disconnect the USB device after which the menu shows up on the player. Is this what its supposed to do? I can see the walkman in Windows Explorer and can add files etc but I can't plug in the headphones into the Walkman and listen to it while its connected this way.

On a related note, if I disconnect the USB device from Windows, does it still charge? Probably not, but just wanted to confirm.

I must say this: there was a slight mishap when I connected the player for the first time. Windows detected it and brought up some dialog box where it wanted my to enter the name of the player and click Finish. I never got to do that though as some other window came up asking for reboot and I accidentally rebooted the box. Could this have messed up the player setup somehow?

Thanks in advance for your help,

HT

1/ Normal; you cannot listen to your walkman whilst connected to your pc via usb.

2/ It will only charge iwhen disconnected from usb if you have a chrger connected ( you can play music while it is charging)...you will need a cradle for this feature to work.

3/ The message you got was probably related to Windows Media Player. You can sync the device with WMP via options in the WMP file menu.
