JennaMo
Hi,The hard drive on my computer is broken. It won't boot but all the files are still intact, including my Sonicstage atrac files. I can access the broken hard drive but have had to reinstall Sonicstage. I know that you have to convert the files in order to use them in a new version of the software. I did this and now some of them work and some of them don't. Whether they work or not appears to be random. Most were imported from CDs. I longer have the CDs so am really disappointed that I can't access the music. Some of the files that I can't access are on my NW A3000 device. However, if I ever want to put new music on this device, I have to delete everything on it as it needs to be reformatted with the new version of Sonicstage. This renders the device useless, unless I want to listen to the same music forever! Is there any 3rd party sofware which could help with this problem? I have looked at GYM but don't know if it will help as my files are all atrac not mp3. I wondered if I could convert the atrac files to mp3 and then use GYM?I would really appreciate any help with this. I don't want to lose my music.Thanks,Jenna. kalkie
Hi Jenna,The only software I know about with the possibility of converting .oma to .mp3 files is Switch Sound File Converter. You can free download this software from www.nch.com.au/switchI just tried a conversion directly from my A3000 to my hard disc and it succeeded. The .oma file must not be DRM'd I think.Start the program (first connect your A3000), choose Add File(s) and change Audio Files to All Files. Now you can browse your A3000 (the maps below OMGAUDIO) and search for the files you want to convert.Of course you can also convert .oma files which are on your hard disc.I hope you have good luck .Jan Edited February 2, 2009 by kalkie

JennaMo
Hi again,I tried using the software recommended. It converted a few of the files but not many. It says "the specified source format could not be read" despite all the files being .omg. Does anyone know why this might be happening? I'm starting to think about giving up on this. Maybe the files are corrupted.Jenna.
