which portable recorder would be best suited to record live

Any ideas which MD Recorder ( portable ) would be best for recording live concerts mostly out of the sound board.... is the Sony 505 suitable? PLEASE HELP!

from what i have read recently the 505 is one of the least suitable. Go for the 707 instead

The N505 would do just fine, as presumably you're going to be recording using a line connection. You might want to consider using a 20dB attenuator to avoid overloading the recorder's line input.

Thanks for the info. I am new what is and where can I get a 20 db Attenhuar? ( sorry about spelling ) Any more details? would really be helpful.

For the small difference in price, get the N707 over the N505 as the mic input on the N707 will come in handy one day, even if you think you will usually record from boards.
