Guest Anonymous
Hello, I used to have a Sharp MD-MT99 and could make fine recordings from our analog mixer using Line-In. I have now bought an MD-MT190 and the levels are very low when recording a speech (up to -10dB with PFL). On the mixer I have to set maximum gain, maximum band volume and almost maximum left/right volume, on the MD Line-In RecLevel 30 and only with this can I have a normal recording. Please recommend me another gear which picks up more signal from the Line-In and has similar good functions as the Sharps (stores RecMode, RecLevel, and can adjust level during recording). Thank you. Aidix
I think you should invest in an analog mixer with sufficient line-out level instead! I have always been able to 'oversteer' line-in signal at max gain on any MD recorder (sony/sharp) with any input (mixers, portable equipment, receivers, other hifi equipment etc...) Try some other analog sources and see if they have the same problem. If they do, your MD recorder might be broken.
Guest Anonymous
The old MD-MT99 would well "oversteer" the level with the same mixer, and this new one gives a shallow signal. Does this mean this particular one is broken or is it an MT190 series' trouble? The other thing is it's a big 16-channel mixer, and not mine. I just record from it.
