Hallo,

i am in Germany and i search for a portable MD-Recorder with

digital Output (optical and/or coax). I will record Live-Music (Akkordeon) over Stereo-Mics (with Preamp).

After this i will transfer the Music to my Soundcard (digital-In), so that i can edit the Music.

can anyone help me ? which MD-Device should i buy ?

There's only one 'portable' MD recorder with digital out, it's made by Marantz and costs about US$1500. Which is far more than a deck and a portable recorder would cost..

So, you have the choice of that (it's huge) or a portable recorder to record the sounds, and a deck to transfer via the optical (or coax. depending on what deck you get) line out.

As you are recording via a preamp, you can get any portable recorder. You'll be using a line in, right?

Some good, cheap recorders are sharps MT180, 190, and Sony's MZ-N505, MZ-N707.

A good deck with optical out is the Sony MDS-JE780, or a Sony MDS-JB980 (it has coax. and optical out).

Hope that helped smile.gif

Thanks for your answer !

i have a low budget, so i can´t buy a portable and a deck together.

I will try to buy a Sony 505 or 707.

Is the Mic-In from 707 mono or stereo ?

If there is no stereo mic-in on 707, so i will buy a 505 and record my music

with a preamp. Is this possible ?

What type of Stereo-Preamp and Mic should i buy ?

And here is the last question: Is the Line-Out Signalquality good enough

to record this on my PC ?

Thanks for your Answers and a Good New Year !

Thanks for your answers !

I read about the Sharp MD-MT200 the following at minidisco.com:

"Have you been waiting for a new low-cost portable for live recording? We have, and now it's here! The Sharp MD-MT200 has the features that make Sharp MD units the best for live recording...at a great low price! Recording level and microphone sensitivity can be adjusted on the fly, and the motor is VERY quiet, even with a highly sensitive mic plugged directly into the unit. This baby gets bonus points for Dolby type H DSP spatial enhancement and 4 bass level settings. Get 'em while they last, this is a whole lot of recorder for so little money! "

Now I am not so shure what Device i should buy, Sony MZ-N707 or

Sharp MD-MT200 ? Any Recommendations ? (The NetMD Feature is not so important for me)
