Guest Anonymous
Personal Disc Memory? I'm on the verge of buying the 707 but it doesn't have PDM. I need to be clarified on exactly what PDM means in the minidisc world. Also with the 707 can you name tracks once they've been loaded onto the player? i think these questions might help a lot of player.. the 707 is looking good especially with the hack that enables some N1 features... (how can the the N1 cost over $100 more??) thanks
Ziggy
personal disc memory is that the recorder will remember the settings you have for a particular disc such as the various sound, speed, and track program order settings you had on the disc. Yes you can name tracks once they have been loaded onto the player either manually or with simple burner the n1 does come with an lcd remote....so that adds to the cost... Guest Anonymous
Ok i know understand what PDM is BUT I have another question. You know on some portable CD players when you STOP in the middle of a track on a disc then you turn it back on it resumes? Does the 707 do this just the same? thanks
Ziggy
I'm 99% sure that it does.
Leland
Virtally all portable MD units have resume play as the default play mode/ Sony's certainly do. The home decks do not. Regarding PDM, the only real beneficial use for this in my experience is in combination with the bookmark feature of the new units (N10 and E10). On a long LP2 disc, it is nice to be able to mark favorite tracks and then have PDM remember this. Otherwise, I never remembered to use it for anything in the 2 years I had it on my R900. me
When I used my E900, PDM was awesome. It's like a playback only scale factor edit. Different sound settings for different discs.. Awesome.
