You can always wait for a newer, trendier release in this area. But then again, you will never get anything. IMHO you have to leap in somewhere! I have an N1 and am extremely happy with it!

I might just get an NE410 for kicks. I already have a DR7, PC1, E900, and R37. But it's "only" NZ$260 apparently

Does the 810 have 64 x recording or is that limited to the N10?

Also, don't assume this pricing will hold worldwide. The N505 and N707 were nearly half the price in the US compared to Asia and Europe.

So what happen to N710? It got optical output, Sonic Stage v1.5, remote unit with LCD and other standard stuff. The most impressive part for me is the fast conversion and transfer via USB. But you can't listen to the NetMD while you transfer file. It took me less than 30 minutes to fill one MD (for MP3). If you transfer from Audio CD it would be much faster. Quality wise, it would be better to record with LP2. BTW, this unit got an Equalizer!

I think he meant N707.. But it doesn't have an optical out

edit: Mistaken! There IS an N710, it's like the NF810, but no radio. Interesting. No optical out though.
