tripl37_
Has anyone tried playing a MD, recorded on a Sharp portable minidisc recorder, on an Alpine MD deck ? its a Sharp 831 (24bit ATRAC) and the alpine deck is a MD-5048. What happens is when i put the disc in it will take a while to read it then come on screen saying DISC ERROR EJECT. i keep ejecting and reinserting and after a while it might start playing but this is not garunteed. What could it be!?!? i ahve tried recording the MD with optic cable, LP etc to no avail. I have had the deck swapped with a new one 3 times and still has the same problem. But when the disc does start playing then it plays fine. I have also tried different brands of MDs to no avail. The disc i record on the SHARP is able to be played on any other deck but my Alpine. Any help would be greatly appreciated cheers
darK (aka Tharaka)
the reading head in your Alpine deck might be dirty.. or maybe there is something wrong with the disc... or is it a MDLP compatibilty problem?
tripl37_
No it doesn't matter wether it is LP or normal mode that I record in. The Alpine deck has been swapped for a brand new one from Alpine 3 times now (they r pretty pissed of with me!) So i doubt it is the deck being dirty and as said above, I have tried many different discs.

Mystyler
Can you playback other unit's recordings (IE, recordings made from machines OTHER than your MT831) on the Alpine? Do the Alpine recordings playback fine on the Sharp? (Or is it a non-recording head unit?) I can only think of an extremely rare, but big ATRAC compatibility glich... tripl37_
yes, any disc recorded on any other deck apart from my sharp can be played on the alpine (except the NetMD) its a non recording head unit. i think it could be the atrac thing, as the alpine deck is one of the first ones that ever came out i think. im pulling my hair out over this, please help!
