I'm scared of my new n10!

Hi,

I just got my n10 today. I went to radio shack and picked up a new adaptor (6VDC 800mA), came home, plugged it in... and nothing. No charging indicator, light, sign of life... is this normal for charging it for the first time? How long do I charge it for (to fully charge the battery)?

I'm just worried that I have the wrong adaptor; I don't want to kill my md! (I can't believe how small and cute it is... this is my first md!) Thanks!

Have you tried using the supplied AC adapter? it's been working just fine for me and I've read that it usually isn't a problem in the US anyway.

Also, the other thing to check is whether or not the "built-in battery" switch is set to "on". I can't remember if mine was set to off when I received it, but it's something to check before getting worried.

Hi,

What adapter can I use with the MZ-N10 Japan Model?

Do I have to use a voltage converter and plug it into the 6V Japan Adapter supplied with the unit or can I throw the Japan Adapter away and use just a single universal voltage converter set to DC 6V. Will this charge the unit? Or is the 6V Japan Adapter supplied with the unit required to charge the unit?

Also noticed sony sells a 7ht charger, is this only for the NiMH batteries or will it charge the lithium ion in the MZ-N10 too?

So, I used my n10 until I got the low battery warning (which happened while it was sitting in the cradle, theoretically using a/c power!) but I can't get it to charge. Nothing happens when it's sitting in the cradle - no charging light, or displayed charging time. Just a blank unresponsive md.

I tried using the original Japanese adaptor instead - still no signs of it charging. I tried plugging the adaptor into the battery pack and charging it through that, and still no sign of it charging.

It works perfectly otherwise though.

Am I doomed to use the battery pack forever?!
