Guest Anonymous
Is there some way you can upload the music from live recordings or say... a recording from the radio onto the computer? Do you need to buy some kind of special device in order to do it? Or if you can't do this...is it possible to connect the MDunit to a cd-burner and burn it on a CD? mAjEsTiC
i would think that u would have 2 just hook up ur LINE OUT from ur MD to the LINE IN on ur soundcard and record it thru ur soundcard's recording programs as a .wav file...the onli piece of 'equipment' u need is probably a 3.5mm stereo mini plug... Bazirker
I have a stereo cd burner and I record md to cd by using a cable that plugs into the headphones jack and splices the signal into stereo analog cables. It's a $4 cable, no big deal to buy. I plug the cable into my md's headphone jack and turn the volume up all the way (I don't have a line out) and plug the other end of the cable to my stereo's analog in. I play back the md while recording to cd-r with the cd burner.

johnty
the hacked lineout mode is the same as full volume+sound settings off. - however it is a bit more convenient...
Umberto Eklat
The best way, or so other people tell me, is to get an iMic — or some similar device — which would enable you to upload music or any recording through USB to your PC/Mac Computer. While connecting MD output to PC or Mac's line input is possible and workable, some say that the sound is not as superior.

The audio would have dropouts in it -- the iMic didn't seem to be able to get the audio through quickly enough for it. But then, it's not really supposed to have full functionality on a PC, just on a Mac.
Umberto Eklat
Forgive me if I sound stupid but have you covered all the bases regarding the uploading process through the iMic? Have you checked the audio cable connecting the MD and the iMic? In all the reviews I have come across regarding the iMic — not that I'm a Mac fanatic which I admittedly am — the iMic works flawlessly whether on PCs or Macs. But then again, that may just be me.
