Do any of these hacks work on the the MZ-S1?

Someone says it desable the orange backlight

That would suck.

Where did you read this? I'd like to find out exactly what works and what doesn't on the MZ-S1, and if there's a way to avoid turning the backlight off.

Bit the bullet and tried it.

Not a good end result.

Shuts down after 1 second, won't play disc. Changes configuration of all the buttons. Makes it really difficult to revert back to normal, but it's doable.

You must have missed up of of the steps

Some peoples also had this happened on thier 505/707

Nope. After getting into service mode, followed the instrustions word for word.

Reversed them to get back to normal.
