Guest Anonymous
Hi, Im currently bidding on a MZ-N710 on Ebay. Anyone here own one of these? How would you rate it and what did you pay? Thanks
Daijoubu
DON'T GET IT, if it's the european version! The headphone output is way too low (2mW+2mW)
Guest Anonymous
Yeah, the 707 has 5mW+5mW headphone out.
Guest Anonymous
The European model has a lower output that those from elsewhere - I think we have French regulations to thank for that. However, I have one of these units and unless you listened to loud thrash metal at full volume for the entirety of your youth I doubt it'll be an issue - my volume control never goes past about 50% and that's even when I'm on the noisy London Underground. Saying that, I bought the Sony EX70 earphones to use with the unit (not out of necessity, I just didn't like the standard set) which are fabulous - highly recommended. They fit right inside your ear and hence don't need as much juice to provide adequate sound. As an aside, and I won't be popular for saying this - I would take a little time to think about whether you actually want a NetMD unit. IMHO, they are overrated and a disappointment - largely due to the awful SonicStage/OpenMG/RealOne software. I hunted around for a good price and the Amazon price is very competitive. Guest Anonymous
It's true that the 710 has an output of 1.2 mW, but you must have a pretty severe hearing loss to find that insufficient... I never get over 75 % of the sound level with my EX70 earphones and that's still pretty loud! I am very happy with my 710 and I can recommend it. But the earphones that come with the unit went straight into the trash...
