Hi, I need some help and advice on 2 MDs recorders. I am planning to buy either a Sony MZ-N10 or Sharp MD-DR7. Which would be a better choice?

What is Sharp MD-DR7 1 bit technology all about? Does Sharp 1 bit technology sound better, if yes, does it sound better than Sony's MZ-N10. Compared Sony's DSP Type-S and Sharp's 1 bit technology, which would sound better, I am more concerned on its sound quality. Will Sharp or Sony produce richer sound quality

Plainly put, will Sony's MZ-N10 produce richer, better sound quality or Sharp's MD-DR7.

And what is Sony's DSP Type-S and Type-R all about? Does the DSP Type-S, Type-R put Sony on the forefront or Sharp's 1 bit technology.

I heard that Sharp's MT831 uses their own 24bit ATRAC. Does the MD-DR7 uses the same 24bit ATRAC as on MT831. And which ATRAC is better, Sony's or Sharp's?

to be honest with u i have used both the N10 (i own 1) and the DR7, and IMO i would say that the DR7's sound output is a lot better than the N10's. i feel that the N10's output is too weak as compared with my N1...the sound output seems a little more clearer as it tends to err towards outputting the treble more than the bass...the DR7 does a good job with the bass (as with all other Sharp units) and the output overall is quite good. I would'n really say one is better than the other it's just realli personal preference...

And what is Sony's DSP Type-S and Type-R all about? Does the DSP Type-S, Type-R put Sony on the forefront or Sharp's 1 bit technology.

well Sony's DSP Type-S and Type-R is just an encoding algorithm that Sony's units use when recording in SP (ATRAC Type-R), Type-S is using Type-R for recording SP and apparently also improves the decoding of LP tracks...well again i would'n say that it puts Sony on the forefront or Sharp either since i don't realli kno the specs of both algorithms so i don't kno sorri...
