The joy of NetMD

Oh wow!

I only recently discovered the joys of MD - I bought a Sharp MT-80 at a run-out sale at the local Tandy's store. I was so blown away by the whole technology that I couldn't believe I had lived all this time without it. I then started avidly surfing every MD site I could find and started to read about NetMD.

One fateful lunch hour I made the mistake of wandering into a Sony dealer and an MZ-M10 fell into my pocket straight after my credit card fell out of my wallet :?

If I was blown away before, I can't possible describe how I feel now - this little unit just rocks!!!! biggrin.gif

Heh heh. NetMD really does seem like a godsend if you're used to recording 160 minute discs in realtime and doing manual titling. Good stuff! Biggles, if Sony listened to like 99% of the minidisc people on this site, NetMD would be even better than it is now...mind boggling, huh?

It's good to hear a positive post about MD. Lately I have read many "MD is obsolete" posts.

In my opinion, you cannot get anything this portable with as many featues as the mini disc has. I cannot even dream of using anything else!

Minidisc is here to stay!

WTF? Was your MP3 player small, like 64MB or something?

I could never justify tossing my RioVolt SP-250 for a NetMD.

yes , isee this too . i guess its because it's not that popular in north america and it's assumed it's obsolete due to this. but it's a big world out there. and it's nice to have something like this from japan to share to us. biggrin.gif

Let me see you fit 12 hours of music on a minidisc.

By the way, insulting someone's taste in music, especially since you don't even know what it is, really hurts your integrity.

And the question still stands: was it a relstively small MP3 player?

I can understand ditching anything under 256MB for a NetMD player, considering that all your music is from your own CD's so you're not mangling the sound quality in the transfer process. After all, switching discs in and out of something as small as a NetMD can only be a good thing. The mic recording, if it works on your model, obviously can only be a good thing, too.

yeah, saying 'what the f*ck' to someone else's preference is really classy, too. btw, i can carry 3 minidiscs with an md player all in my pocket and it's still lighter than your riovolt. there's your 12+ hours of music.

HERE WE GO AGAIN... Lame GUEST coming in here and spouting MP3 crap! Lets see... RioVolt... isnt that ... why yes it is... a GLORIFIED CD PLAYER! Which just LOVES to suck batteries... Duracell loves these things, 2 AA batteries and you get 20 hours of play back on a normal CD and MAYBE 2 hours on a MP3 CD, yeah I owned one of these pieces of CRAP! There was of course the 500 model with the built in battery... that lasted a whole wopping 5 hours after 12 hours of charging.... wow... that is one fantastic unit there... can't imagine why you would perfer MD over that... ?!? SURE you can get 12+ hours on a CD, BUT YOU CANT LISTEN TO THE WHOLE THING WITHOUT 10 batteries!!!! 56 hours on one AA battery with a MD, and thats an understatement.... I have run my MZ-N505 for way more than 70 hours on ONE battery...

Can we start hunting down scared simple minded guests that have no idea what they are talking about for the simple pleasure of telling them to shut up and get out?... after all this is the MINIDISC FORUM... if your interested in MD thats one thing... but to come in here bashing MD is just weak!
