philipeve Posted May 17, 2003 Report Share Posted May 17, 2003 I have been using the Sharp MT80 for 2 months now - for live recording of my Voice Lessons and Coaching Sessions etc (I am a singer). I am using a tiny Panasonic stereo mic (I understand the choice of compatible mics for this machine is quite limited because they must use "plug in power", rather than having batteries of their own). Up until a week ago I was recording at full volume and getting an acceptable signal - though not very powerful. I then made my first mono (LP) recording, and something I have done appears to have set the mic sensitivity to HIGH. I recorded something in stereo yesterday - with the volume set to max as usual - and the recording is very loud and distorted. I cannot seem to find a way of reversing the process, and setting the sensitivity level back to LOW. The only mention of sensitivity levels in the manual is to do with sound-actuated recording, but I do not wish to use this facility. Can anyone explain the change in behaviour of my machine, and how I might be able to change it back?? Please help! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
sudden Posted May 21, 2003 Report Share Posted May 21, 2003 Maybe this will help, it's about a MD-MT99 but i may work in the same way. After another session with the MD, poking around buttons and menu I found out that mic select are done trough the level indicator. From 1-20 it displayes MIC L then from 21 and up it is MIC H.
