Guest Anonymous
hi everytime i connect my sony mz-ne410 via usb to my computer and record a minidisc, it drains the power off the minidiscs battery. even if i put in a new dry battery, it will be almost empty at the end of the recording session. i did a search on this topic but couldn't find anyone else with the same problem, so maybe i'm just missing something important here. any help would be highly appreciated. j
Guest Anonymous
I think that you are right--I have had a 410 for about a week and it looks like USB connection and MD burning also burns batteries. In fact, I cured a problem that I was having with Simple Burner and Sonic Stage halting in the middle of burning sessions and giving me weird messages that looked like it was some sort of software issue by simply putting a fresh battery in! This even though the battery meter showed that the existing battery still had about 75% charge! Keep lots of batteries at hand! (Playback doesn't seem to drain battery life nearly as much.) Guest Anonymous
I have this model too, just bought it a few days ago. It dose drain the battery but not as much as you described. Do you leave it pluged in the computer for hours with SonicStage on? I recorded 3 full discs and did some title editing and am still on my first battery with about 18 hours of play. My batt meter is still at 3/4 th If your battery is empty by just one session meaning one MD disc, then I think there is a problem with it. You need to have it replaced. CoinSlot
It could be the brand of battery. My 510 didn't like eveready batteries at all. would say low battery after 1 song. My advice, get some good rechargeables or an AC adaptor.
MD NTR
I did notice it drain a lot if you keep it pluged all the time to the computer with sonicstage on for a long time. But once you're done with editing/check-in/out, the battery meter goes up a bar or 2 agan in playback. :? Anyway , I give it a minute rest and plug it again and my baterry is good again for a few more edits  using regular Duracell coppertops
Guest Anonymous
I've had the same modle for about 3 weeks now and I don't have any battery problems at all. I can have it hooked up to the USB cable for hours and still no effect the battery. george

Christopher
I think it's absolutely absurd that Sony decided no AC plug-in on the 410. How lame. k
Guest Anonymous
Well it is the lowest model on the line... you should expect them to take out any useful feature to drop the price lower.
Guest Anonymous
i've got no problems or complaints about my ne410. i bought this simply to take advantage of netmd, since i bought mzr-700 just weeks before netmd finally came out. i waited until netmd unit prices hit bottom, and snatched a brand new ne410 at $50 USD on ebay. yeah, i knew it's got no ac adapter, no line input, no nothing. but like i said i've already got another unit with everything but netmd. the only catch is that i should recharge the battery on r-700 and move it to ne410, which isn't such a big deal. of course i wouldn't recommend people to buy ne410 for their only md unit. if you have one and disappointed, but you cannot afford a better model, i'd suggest to look for a full-featured mdlp model without netmd. you might be able to purchase one less than $100.
