I have the previous model MD-MT99 and are very pleased with it.

Good features is MDLP, mic in, slim sticker-gum battery + attachable AA cell battery case (MT99 only have a fixed AA battery case that makes unit larger). Negative side is no LCD remote, no NetMD.

As the successor MD-MT290 costs around $230 USD I wouldn't pay more than half that price, $100-120 USD are max. If it cost's more I wouldn't buy it, I rather go for a brand new one.

A new MT-190 costs roughly $180-200. I think that's a bit steep. You can get a used on on E-bay for $100-$140 easily. I think that's worth it.

Good Things:

- great sound

- good feature set for the price

- great design of the remote: simple, easy to use, hard to make mistake

- good power 10 mW/channel: the most of ANY unit available

Bad Things

- slightly bigger than the average top-end unit

- no lcd on remote

Its a very good unit for low end and the only think that hld is back slighly is that its ever so sligtly bulky (but not as huge as the 290). Overall I think its a question of price. Above $140, you might as well go out and find yourself a used version of the next unit up (MT-200), or even the MT-770. Below that, you got yourself a nice deal.

thanks for the replies. I am reluctant to spend anything over 200$ because if im gonna spend 230 on the 290 then i might as well just bump it up and get the dr7. but i dont need that adn would rather spend less than 200. the mt190 is 200 on ebay and i was afraid that that was too much and i guess i was right. so now to find something else....
