Nothing in the Sony range comes close to the cool looks of the N1.

I have played around today withe the N10 (small but seems so fragile.)

The N910 which is a nice unit, but the styling of the N1 just totally outstrips anything else out there.

Is the N1 still a good recorder, as I might spend some money on this rather than the newer models...

Should it Play, record, and do most of the things that the 910 and n10 do, then I will be happy to opt for the N1...

The N1 is a problematic unit, many owner have experienced issues with the optical block...search around in this and the minidisct forums

Or just get an MZ-N10 - can't fault mine.

It doesn't scratch, it never skips, it sounds great - it does everything you'd want - what more can you ask?

Maybe a backlit LCD on the unit itself

Honestly - the N10 is not a fragile unit.
