Guest Anonymous
Hello everyone. I have a MD player in my car (I am guessing it is not compatible with long play) but I wanna buy a netMD, and I was wondering which netMD I should get to allow me to play the disks I make in my car stereo. Thank You -Spyder
maia
Get any Net MD. Just record in normal or mono mode
Bazirker
If it isn't compatible with longplay, don't get NetMD. It is designed for MDLP modes, not SP or mono modes. It can do both, but you'd be better off recording in realtime. Just get a model that has a line-in.
Guest Anonymous
Why would I be better of doing that? Real time takes forever! Cheers
GooGooDoll
yes it does but it's the best quality! recording discs using the netMD system have the withdraw of losing quality in sp mode. netMD is best for LP2 and LP4 but not for SP mode, to get the best quality u have to record in real time throgh the line-in. Guest Anonymous
How much wuality loss are we talking here? I mean is it going to be only minor or totally unbearable? Regards, Scott
Guest Anonymous
I've been recording from CD to LP2. I'm fairly discriminating and especially dislike even the hint of distortion or clipping of higher frequencies, and LP2 is fine. In the portable environment most MD players are used, including your car, you aren't going to be able to discern any degradation due to ambient noise. You'd have to sit in a perfectly silent acoustic room to tell the difference and then you probably wouldn't be able to tell LP2 from the original. A young child or woman may be able to discern some drop off in the really high frequencies, that's about it. Then, if you had a perfect environment, you'd probably be playing from a CD player anyway.
