Guest Anonymous
I purchased an MZ-R3 on Ebay a couple of weeks ago and for the first week I've had the unit it's worked wonderfully recording via a mic. Then over the weekend I tried to copy a cassette from a line out on my stereo to the analog line in of the recorder and the result was a recording filled with drop outs. At this point recording with a mic was still fine. Last night, however, I go to record my voice lesson and end up with a recording full of drop outs and strange stutters (the timer will hold at a time...say 00:15 and act like it's on hold only it isn't) that I can fast forward past but hit more. Is anyone aware of this problem or similar problems? If I need service will Sony still fix the machine? Thanks, Craig (chutler @ nospam hotmail.com)
Guest Anonymous
BTW: It's still playing older discs just fine.
mAjEsTiC
um i'v neva owned an R3 before but i still have an R2 tho i haven't encountered any problems like this with it...it's probably the way the previous user handled the unit (e.g. mayb dropped it a few hundred times) and it could have screwed something up inside...not entirely sure if it's the recording head but it might be since my friend had a similar problem on his R30...but in regards to the service if you do get it serviced by Sony, they will fix the machine (or at least try to) though at a price...
