water proof case for MD?

You want it totally waterproof, but to still have a headphones connection? That's a tall order; what would they do to let the headphones out without letting the water in? Of course that can use all sorts of gaskets and whatnot, but I don't think they can me a 100% waterproof MD case. Maybe I'm wrong, I dunno, but either way I've never seen one. The MZ-S1 is very very very water resistant, and considering how much it'll probably cost to buy an MD waterproof case, it might be just as cost effective to get an S1.

What do you need a waterproof MD case for and what unit do you have? Maybe we can help you design your own. There's always the simple and cheap solution, which is to just put your MD in a ziplock bag. That works to an extent, although it's no good if you actually want to submerge your MD since water will leak in around where the headphones slip through the seal. You might be able to find another one of those cases that you use for PDA's and such, although you might have to drill a hole in it somewhere to fit your headphones cable through.

If you find any solutions, let us know!

I suppose if you had an MD unit with a wireless remote or headphones that you could do one, that way it could be completely sealed... how much the case would interfere with the signal to the wireless remote I have no idea.

Yeah, what is the point of the waterproof case? You'd have to have some waterproof headphones too I'd think...

if the case was made outta plastic (like those water proof camera cases) then the signal interferance would b relatively low...they usualli use high frequency radio waves for wireless remotes (since IR would b clumsy as it needs line of sight to operate) then the signal will b able to get thru to the remote easily (as radio waves aren't subjected to line of sight and pass straight thru plastic without that much loss of signal)...soo the signal would'n b a problem...as Rumz said earlier the only problem would be to make sure that the wireless remote and headfones are both water proof as well...

What do you need the case for? if yourethinking of underwater listening, there is like 1 or 2 special headphones out there but no case for listening, if want passive, there should be that plastic ones mostly sold in yellow kinda look like engineer helmets =)

I woud use a clear refrigerator/freezer zip-bag and some duct tape (optional). Even though it would solve the cord situation, and I must emphasize here, DO NOT get the large bags and put your head inside with the MD.

The plastic bag allows easy access to push buttons and even could hold spare media and are inexpensive.
