sfcheney
Hi, brand new to the forum. I just bought a MZ-N10 and installed all of the software that came with the device. I cannot record mp3's or CD's to my minidisc via the SonicStage or RealOne software. Everytime I try recording, a track is copied to the mindisc, but upon playback of the track, there is no sound and the counter hangs up on the device every 5 seconds or so (the track does not play continuously). If I eject the mindisc, and reinsert it, I get a Blankdisc error message. I can record music from an external unit, such as a CD player or stereo, but I cannot record anything through my PC. There is not a problem with the USB connection. My PC recognizes the NetMD device and when I copy a track from my PC, I can see the write status on the mindisc player itself. And I can select the file to play on the mindisc player, but after I eject the minidisc, the file appears to have been erased. Thanks for the help. Guest Anonymous
Wow, so now it seems that N1 and N10 have similar recording faults. I reckon its the MD head playing up or is dirty (strange if its brand new). I cleaned my N1 thoroughly, all the contacts, the USB cradle and the lens and head and it is now working more reliably. I also reinstalled the software just to make sure I'll see how it goes, wanna get 3 years use before I buy an updated model.
acp89
i'm gonna dissagree, the n10 doesn't have nearly as many complaints as the n1. i think this is more of an isocolated case, as my brother and i both own n10's and have had no problems wid them..... Guest Anonymous
I hope this is the solution: In the directory where OpenMG is (C:Program FilesSonyOpenMG Jukebox or some thing) u have to search for: ojbsir.exe. Double click this .exe file. (Note: While running this program, u must have internet connection). After that, the program tell u to install OpenMG again. This installing again IS NOT NESSESSERY. The problem now is solved!!!!
Kool K
What does that program actually do? When I had that problem, it was because my MD write head was relatively dirty and also I think there is a wad of dust interfering with the movement of the servo motors that drive the optical pick up and MD head. Use of a well known brand of head cleaner should help. If it is under guarantee I would recommending getting it fixed.
