Hi, can anyone tell me if my Net MD MZ-N505 is capable of using the Sony ECM-DS70P microphone? I bought this microphone yesterday online and i tried it on my MD by pressing REC and PLAY at the same time. The LCD screen showed the word REC and the time is moving. after I stopped and it started saving and then it was done. So i press play to listen to what I thought I recorded, but instead it was blank, but the time is running on the LCD screen. Did I do the recording procedure wrong? I hope someone can help me. IF so reply back ASAP either here or at my email: gatsby1211@yahoo.com

Thanks

The MZ-N505 don't have mic in, if you plug into line in you get silence. Just like plug a mini cord into it. Most mic get the electric current trough mic in with something called "plug in power". The MD provides the mic with it's own battery power. Only way for you is to get a battery box (phantom feeding), get a different mic with built in power or a MD with mic in.

Oh man, so my MD doesn't work with that mic huh? Darn. Thanks for letting me know about it. When i bought it the guy on ebay said that's what he has so that's why i got it. Well I'll just sell it back on ebay I guess. Thanks for all your help again "sudden" and "bcutlerj".
