jamesdstark_
I finally decided to try some NetMD transfers with my NE-410. I have spent the past 3 hours trying to get less than one hour of music onto an MD. First I tried using the sonicstage software that came with my portable. Everything seemed to work fine until I started the transfer, then sonicstage just closed during the first track copy. I then installed the updates 1.5.5 and 1.5.5.3 which didn't help at all, just wasted a lot of my time in the installation process. I then tried RealOne which I was hoping would work, but it doesn't. It successfully gets one track on the MD, and then closes while trying to copy the second track. I have no idea whats wrong, needless to say this is very frustrating. Is there an updated NetMD driver I need? I am running WinXP with service pack 1, maybe there is a compatibility problem there. This seems to be more trouble than it's worth, I guess that's the general concept of NetMD it seems?
mAjEsTiC
??? that's odd i am using Win XP Pro SP1 and all programs work fine with it (i.e. SonicStage/OpenMG, RealOne and SimpleBurner)...judging from your description of the problem i'm sure that u'v already pin-pointed that it is indeed a software bug that is causing this...when it finishes a song transfer what does your MD unit do??? like after the TOC EDIT does it just go to the track number and time and just sit there??? and about the netmd driver update i don't think there is one either...i could try and help you with this problem if i knew exactly what the MD unit and the software was doing...sorry if this isn't very helpful... :? jamesdstark_
I have a NE410. When I connect the usb cable it says "PC-MD" on the display. After the first song is transfered from RealOne and it crashes, the display says track 001. I've tried doing one track at a time, but if I try to add any more tracks it just crashes immediately and doesn't work. It seems to crash while trying to do a TOC edit, because from what I understand this is what it does at the end of every track. I'm not running through any USB hub it's hooked directly to my PC. I don't have any problems using other USB devices. I'm running off a fully charged AA battery, I'm assuming this isn't a problem because I don't have a power supply. Since one wasn't included with my unit, this shouldn't be a requirement for netmd.
batphink
Weird. Normally a Md recorder doesn't write to the TOC until after the whole session is done, not after each track. It could be that the NetMD drivers got corrupted. Try deleting and re-installing them from the CD-Rom.
mAjEsTiC
well previous units (1st gen netmd's such as my N1) does a TOC EDIT after each song where as the new 1's do a TOC Edit after the whole batch has been transfered...but yeh try re-installing the drivers as batphink said above... Guest Anonymous
any new news on this? I'm having the same problem, but my mzne410 never gets to a TOC edit if it crashes on the first song transfer from sonicstage. MD display just stays on PC->->MD. I too have uninstalled and reinstalled and tried updates to software.
jamesdstark_
I thought removing my mouse from the USB port might help, but it didn't.
Guest Anonymous
hello im new here. i usually use the realone player instead of the sonicstage software to transfer my mp3s into my MD. i've used this method for the last 8 months without problems. but yesterday, when transferring the files (using realone player) my pc crashed. after rebooting my pc, i can't transfer the files anymore. when it goes up to 9%, it restarts. i tried using sonicstage afterwards, but the same problem occur (9% transfer, then restarts or fail). and i've also tried reinstalling my sonicstage software, along with the driver, but the problem still occurs. ohh, im using the sony MZ-510 model any help would be appreciated, thanks p/s: sorry english is not my first language

Luminous
I'm having exactly the same problems as the above users mentioned.I have a MZ-N710 connected by USB to my Win XP Pro SP2 machine. The machine has been fully updated. I have not used my Mini Disc for about 9 months, it used to work fine. All of today it has been crashing when I have tried to transfer music to it. Sometimes it manages to do one track, but it never manages to do 2.I have tried Sonic Stage 1.5, 2.x and 3.1I have also downloaded the Nt MD driver from the worldwide siteI have also tried Real Player 10 Nothing is working, and now I have no music to play (I did manage to erase my disks). Please can someone point me in the right direction as to how to solve this??Many thanks
Christopher
Welcome to the forum, Luminous - try to post a new topic instead of bumping one that is more than a year old. Anyway, please read the pinned topics in the Software Discussion/FAQ's forum - you may want to try uninstalling via the directions in the FAQ and install Sonicstage 3.x only. Don't install any prior versions of SS.

I must admit that I had not checked to see if it was more than 1 year old!! Thanks for the welcome
Luminous
Thanks for all of your help. I have just followed your advice and managed to get things to work again. YEAH I must say this is a very nice looking forum now that I have worked out how to use it in its full glory. I originally found this place through Google, and was given the low bandwidth version that did not have any of the menus (hence me missing the FAQ).Thanks again.
