Any StandAlone MiniDisc Drives for PC use?

Trying to see if anyone has taken this one step beyond plugging in a portable device to the USB 2.0 port. I'd like a MiniDisc external drive capable of storing songs in the NetMD format and perhaps data.

Has any company produced such an item yet? As an owner of a MZ-NE410, I'd certainly prefer a device that isn't battery powered for the inititial recording.

yeh i think sony's made one of them already (Japanese model and some were actually released outside of Japan) though whether or not it's portable or use USB2 is another matter...data they did make a drive for but it wasn't very widely accepted since there were other more cheaper competing devices out there that people were already using so the data MD was a kind of a flop...

They did make 2 decks that could be connected directly to a PC. Take a look at this link:

The MDS-NT1 has NetMD but, it has been released in 2001 so it might be a bit hard to find them. They also weren't that popular.

I live in Scotland and recently bought a MDS-NT1. They are not too difficult to find in the UK. One site that stocks them is empiredirect.co.uk but they don't ship outside of the UK.
