Tenn Man
I am new to MD recording having just purchased a Sharp DR7. My questions are: What is the normal recording level to use for recording live concerts? I know it depends on various factors but what is the range to start with? I've read about the high and low mic sensitivity. Can you set either high or low only when using automatic level adjustments or when using manual levels also? When is it desirable to use low vs. high? Thanks for your help.
Guest Anonymous
levels are generally between 5 and 12 on my Sharp 888. 1-20 = low sensitivity 21-30 = high sensitivity
sudden
At realy loud shows I have gone low as 2 on the scale. DR7 don't have automatic gain. Over my recording days I have never used the "high" end of the scale.
