Robbo
Hi, I have a Sony MZG750 and have had it for over a year. The last few recordings I have tried to make (using digital optical) have been unsuccessful. I set the CD playing as usual and record on the MD, the MD display looks normal but once the CD has finished, the MD says there are 251 tracks on the newly recorded disc and when I try to play the MD back it constantly skips. The number of tracks the MD shows varies but it is always a large number. Playback on previously recorded discs is fine, the unit has never misbehaved once. I've tried more than one brand new disc but still get the same error. What could this be? Does the unit just need a cleaner run through it - even though playback is fine? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
mAjEsTiC
this is SCMS kicking in...copyright protected media most likely..to get around this i think it'll be better to go through a computer to record to bypass the SCMS...or record through analogue... Robbo
Thanks for the reply. If you are correct that is really annoying! I pay my money to buy a genuine CD and want to transfer it to my MD digitally to listen on the move and the industry don't let me! I'll check the label to see whether if is copy protected when I got home. Cheers
