Guest Anonymous
As it says in topic this is my problem. Whenever i try to get my MZ-N1 to work windows gives me an error message stating that the usb device cannot be recognised. This did not used to happen, only recently occuring. I have a Net MD MZ-N1 Windows XP Home SP1 Athlon XP2000+ 512DDR Ram nForce Board, K7N415DA by leadtek. I once had this problem before, fixing this by reinstalling my motherbaord drivers as it was my usb controller that was not working properly. However, this has not worked this time. I have updated the drivers, rolled back the drivers and tried everything. Please any ideas ?

Please any ideas ?Yeah, sadly, it seems to be that if you just take the MZ-N1 out of the cradle and carefully put it back in, then Windows will recognize it. I spent half an hour uninstalling and reinstalling OpenMG/SimpleBurner/etc., still no use, then just took it out of the cradle and put it back in. That did it. mAjEsTiC
most of the time you just undock and redock the N1 into its cradle and all is good... must be a software bug of some sort that sony forgot to address...if it doesn't get recognised at all (i.e. that little chime when you plug it in) then something isn't wrong...could be the cable connection or otherwise...but make sure all the connections are good and there shouldn't be a problem... Skully
well i sent it back to amazon believing id get a replacment. however theyve refunded me and left me with no md. i now have a load of useless minidiscs thanks to them. i was looking at the 10th anniversary edition mzn10 and was wondering if that is worth getting? i do like minidiscs and want one again. if the mzn10 isnt so good, does anyone else have any suggestions? mAjEsTiC
well i'v owned an N10 ever since the start of this year and i have no complaints thus far (besides the weaker sound output than my N1 i.e. the bass isn't as strong both r 5mW models btw)...but if ur in the market for a new unit try looking at the new Sharp range...they look promising... Skully
it was a christmas present last year so im going to see if my dad can take me to buy it today. i think its about £280 in the shops. seems a little expensive but only £30 more than i paid for my mz-n1
mAjEsTiC
hope u enjoy the unit... make sure u watch the charge on the battery constantly since it is significantly shorter than that of the N1 unit...but still relatively long...
