Hey guys, I burnt a large mp3 and want to split it up using track points. It gives me the error TrPROT every time I try though, how the hell do I get this working?

if u'v transfered it through the PC using the NetMD interface then this will happen to u since once the song is transfered u can't do much else to it except change the position and edit the title...everything else has to be done through the PC i'm afraid...

You have got to be kiding me. What is the difference between a song that came from a cd and one that came from an mp3? So if I convert my mp3 to cd audio and then burn that cd to the md I'll be able to insert track points?

if say u got an mp3 and basically record it optically (or with a mic) through the PC's optic out then you can do more or less whatever you want to the song...but if you transfer it using OpenMG or SonicStage then it limits you to what you can do to the song since it also transfers this protection crap rendering the song more or less useless other than to listen to it...

That is fucking retarded. I can partition it up on my computer but then there are little skips in between songs. So basically I have to endure the skips or have the entire track all at once? Great.

Anyone know a way to split up the mp3 and burn it seemlessly so the skips dont show up?

well u could record to the MD through real-time method and do trackmarks like that....but if you do end up doing it on PC and there is a slight lag then i think you can burn it on a cd specifying that you don't want any spaces inbetween the songs and then transfer to MD using SimpleBurner (just use the Nero + SimpleBurner method since it's a lot more convenient)

lol That's why I don't use sonicstage, it locks the tracks so you can't edit them with anything other than sonicstage. That means that you can't change track names, delete tracks, add trackmarks, or anything like that unless you use Sonicstage or openmg to do it. I think you can still move tracks, but that's it.

Tracks recorded to MD via simpleburner have none of these restrictions and behave like normal MD tracks.
