fortgjort
Hi! I have just bought a Sony Net MD MZ-N707 Type-R. MP3 files that i transfer to my unit can be played on the unit as normal. But if i insert the disc in my Sont MD Deck MDS-JE510 the display shows LP:<some song> and there is "absolute silence". Is atrac3 not possible to play on my MD Deck. Is there anything I can do? I've tried to look for details on www.minidisc.org, but Im still confused. By the spec. it looks like my MD Deck has an ATRAC4 chip installed. Hope to hear from u! .forgjort
Guest Anonymous
fortgjort, I am by far an MD expert here... But in lamen's terms heres what happened. You've recorded a Minidisc ineither LP2 or LP4 and your trying to play it on an MD deck that doesn't support it. You will need to record MDs in SP mode in order to play them on your deck. Your MZ-N707 has MDLP and is able to record in SP, LP2, and LP4 modes. Your MD Deck sounds like it is Pre-MDLP erea because from what you've explained it sounds like it does the same thing my MD deck does when I put an MD that was recorded with MDLP in it. When you record to you MZ-N707, make sure you're doing it in SP mode. This will allow you to listen to it on your MD deck as well.
fortgjort
If that is the case....does anyone know any good pc software that let me transfer mp3 files from the computer -> to the Net MD in SP mode. Im currently using Realplayer, but this software uses the OpenMG software to transfer as far as I know. When transfering files here it looks like I have to choose one of the LP modes.... Or am I wrong? .fortgjort
mAjEsTiC
so far there's no program that i'm aware of that will enable us to transfer music from the PC -> MD in SP mode...all the programs that i've used transfer only in LP modes and to record SP it has to be done in real-time using old school methods of hooking cables up...
